Our client has a long-term presence in the wireless data industry serving a growing installed base of well known top-tier mobile carriers worldwide.

General Description

The Project Management Team Leader is responsible for all of the job functions of a

Project Manager and in addition he/she will be responsible for leading the day to day operations of Project Management personnel (see specific duties and responsibilities listed below).

The Project Manager (PM) oversees all technical aspects of a Project (with Mobile operators) using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. The PM is responsible for coordination and completion of the project and to this end will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, coordinating until project is completed. Such tasks will include technical understanding of customer requirements, setting deadline, monitoring and summarizing progress of the project. The PM may be responsible for more than one project at a time from both technical and administrative aspects.

The PM will be responsible for the successful implementation of our client’s different solutions within large mobile operators. A project time-line normally spans over several months up to a year. The job also consists of daily contact with multiple global technical teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on a daily basis with the Project Managers, Director of Customer Services and Customer Service managers to oversee all projects ensuring that the Statement of Work is followed, deadlines are met, quality is controlled and a high level of customer Service is maintained
  • Verify the correctness and completeness of data to maintain consistent and

Accurate customer work documentation

  • Manage the day-to-day activities and provide guidance for the project
  • Management team - coordinate activities of the project management team with other CS managers
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams with participation from different functions within the organization and where appropriate, external sub-contractors
  • To be Company’s client representative for all matters relating to the implementation phase of any work undertaken
  • To assist in identifying and responding to sales opportunities
  • Hands-on as Project Manager when needed:

v To assist in identifying and responding to sales opportunities.

v Planning and problem-solving tasks. The PM is responsible for planning the project in order to accomplish its goals or produce the products required within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.

v The PM must be courteous and polite in written and oral communication, and be able to get ideas across in a non-confrontational manner in one-to-one situations, small groups, and before large audiences.

v The PM is responsible for the project’s commitment to quality – also referred to as fitness for purpose or specification level, and may need to call on specialists to assist in creating or assessing quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BSC (or higher) Engineering degree, MBA - advantage
  • Previous managerial experience – MUST
  • 5 + years in managing complex implementation projects within large mobile operators, wire line operators or ISPs
  • Proven project management experience gained in a telecommunications environment
  • Very good technical knowledge of IP networks, Cellular topology- MUST
  • Previous hand-on technical experience –MUST
  • Good understanding of operating system concepts (UNIX and Windows).
  • Fluent English
