Our client is new, exciting and well-funded ag-tech start-up.They are changing the way technology works in agriculture by providing farmers with valuable, cost-effective intelligence.

They are currently looking for an Agronomist to lead, plan and execute trials, field research and agronomic sciences and be a key member of a team that supports the product development, commercial product expansion, and technical education on our innovative and existing products and systems.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Crop Science, Agronomy or crop oriented Soil & Water Sciences.
  • 3+ years' experience in agronomic sciences, crop consulting or a related field with emphasis on crop water relations and mineral nutrition.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in planning, executing and conducting field experiments and research
  • Skilled and experienced in analyzing trial results and preparing reports
  • Familiar with local crops - Corn, soybeans, potato, wheat, alfalfa, cotton and more.
  • Effectively demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation
  • Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives without close supervision
  • Willingness to travel and spend a lot of time in the fields
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary (a bag of seed)
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities:
Plan and execute field research programs that test current products and evaluates new products
Provide product and agronomic support and education for sales personnel and customers
Determine and demonstrate the value, positioning, and agronomic fit of products in local grower production systems
Build strong working relationships with key influencers including academia, crop consultants, commodity/grower groups and others
Ensure regulatory compliance with broad Federal and State regulatory requirements
Identify and assess new technology, based business opportunities
