Therapy Market Development Manager - Neurology

Location: New York City (NY) or Washington (DC) or Orlando (FL),


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • New Therapy Market Development
  • Create and execute account market development plans consistent with overall marketing strategy
  • Understand clinical pathways and adoption dynamics at assigned centers
  • Utilize existing and create new tactics to increase awareness, create value and increase adoption (eg. referral events, grand rounds, local PR, technical publications, case studies, etc.)
  • Assure physicians are properly educated on products and that products are used consistent with their labeling and best practices.
  • Partner with accounts on business planning
  • Identify and prioritize target accounts
  • Manage the sales process and meet sales and clinical use objectives

Physician Relationship Development

  • Develop consultative relationships with key physicians at assigned accounts as well as eventual target accounts
  • Become a local resource for new clinical information regarding technology as well as related technology and products

Clinical Trial Enrollment

  • Be a consultative resource for local research personnel to solve issues, accelerate progress and maximize enrollment
  • Partner with the Clinical Operations Staff to identify key sites, key issues and resolution plans

Qualification Requirements:

  • Application Development & Support:
  • Experience in driving change in clinical practice – success in collaboration with physicians to drive new therapy trial and adoption
  • Experience in a medical environment providing procedure, device and application training and support
  • Experience and interest in new technique, new therapy and new application development


  • Experience in functional neurosurgery procedures (eg. movement disorders, epilepsy), devices (eg. DBS, radiosurgery, ablation) and physicians.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Experience in medical device sales – preferably neurosurgical or neurological

Clinical Trials:

  • Experience in supporting clinical trials to drive trial enrollment

Physical Requirements:

  • Market Development Manager position requires up to 50% travel, with close proximity to major airport.


  • Consistent high achievement.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree.
  • 10+ years consultative sales or clinical experience selling and educating on invasive medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • Knowledge of clinic and hospital units, including patient pathways and business operations.
  • Interpersonal skills to gain access and establish differentiable business relationships with physicians and allied health professionals necessary to support the implementation of solutions within their practice and hospitals.
  • Consultative selling or clinical skills to elicit needs, assess clinical pathways and processes, and recommend and support therapy adoption.
  • Experience developing a market, i.e. strategy development, key tactics, execution and performance metrics.
